CPP

Money you and your employer contribute every paycheque while you work. Starting at 60, the Canadian government sends you a monthly retirement payment for the rest of your life — it's one of the biggest sources of retirement income for Canadians.

Example

You earn $80,000 in 2026. Your CPP deduction is about $4,446 ($4,230 base CPP plus $216 CPP2) — your employer pays the same amount on top. Quebec residents pay into QPP instead at slightly different rates.
